It’s funny, I didn’t realize until I looked back at my February reads just how many romance books I read last month. I didn’t intentionally do this, it just happened to be a happy coincidence. All in all, I finished 7 books last month (I was only halfway through Redeeming 6 at the end of the month so I’ll tally that up next month).
Interestingly enough there was still a good variety of romance all things considered, so let’s just get started!

This was the second book in the Rights and Wrongs Series. It is a Dramione fan fiction and a really easy fun read! I wrote a full review of this book here: My All the Wrong Things Review. I really enjoyed the first book The Right Thing To Do, which I read last month in my January reads, which was from Hermione’s POV. The second book is the same timeline and story from the first book just all from Draco’s perspective. I love a good Dramione fan fiction and these are just fun easy and light to read and just hits all of the feels!

If you couldn’t tell, this was my book club’s pick for February, and only non romance I read this month. I know this was on a lot of book club lists and recommendations. I understand why this is a good book, but it’s just not the book for me. One thing I know about myself, regarding the fiction genre, I like a book that has a plot more than a book that tells a story. This is a book that tells a story. There is a murder mystery “plot” in the book, but it reads mostly like a story. This book takes you through many different characters and their lives and I had a hard time keeping track of what was going on because it would switch to a new character in a new chapter and I could not remember where you left off when you go back. I also mostly read this on audio so I think that also made it harder to follow in this instance. It was also hard to determine who/what was relevant with all of the switching and different stories that were going on. There were characters that I thought were important and wanted to go back to and then they never showed up again and vice versa. It reminded me of reading Game of Thrones. I don’t enjoy books structured like that because I have a hard time reading and following that kind of writing style. If you like that kind of style, you will probably enjoy this more than I did.

This is the third book in the Ruinous Love Series which includes Butcher & Blackbird (Book 1) and Leather & Lark (Book 2). I was really excited for this book to come out this year and was probably my most anticipated read of 2025 behind Onyx Storm. While it was good, it ended up being the least favorite in the series. It lacked the same level of humor the other two books had. I also had an issue with the ending where it seemed rushed and we didn’t get a whole chunk of one characters story towards the end and sort of time jumps, which I think was a missed opportunity and would have been a good addition to the book. It did end up leaving somewhat open ended for future books. I still enjoyed it and plan to keep on reading any future books in the series, it just wasn’t as good as its predecessors. I plan to write a review on the book in the future and maybe as a whole trilogy now that it’s completed so keep an eye out for that!
Binding 13 by Chloe Walsh

Okay, I just finished reading the first two books in the Boys of Tommen series and my full review of them can be read in my Binding 13 & Keeping 13 review. Overall this was a great book. It had everything you would want and one of the best YA books I have ever read! It is an emotional roller coaster full of laughs and tears and rage. The character development and growth is top tier and did not anticipate the level of attachment I would feel to these characters. In my review, I explain the first two books read like one long book that was just split in two, so it was difficult to rate them individually, so I made the second book slightly better just because it finishes the story, but combine the two of them to make a 4.5 (5 as a YA) read.
Keeping 13 by Chloe Walsh
Format: Audiobook / eReader
Rating: 4.5 ⭐️ / 3 🌶️
Picking up right where Binding 13 leaves off, Keeping 13 just continues the story and just finishes it beautifully. I honestly wouldn’t change anything about the ending. I thoroughly enjoyed these two books following Johnny and Shannon as the two main POV’s and it helps expand on other characters and sets them up for future books in the series really well! I just finished Saving 6 and am halfway through Redeeming 6 so keep an eye out for my review on the next two books in the series!
Lights Out by Navessa Allen

I actually had no intention of reading this book last month. I read it last year, and absolutely loved it! I did want to re-read it but wasn't planning on it until closer to the next book Caught Up comes out in June. I just happened to mention it to my girls chat as a recommendation for a “light” dark romance because I would argue this is more of a rom-com than a true dark romance. I then saw it was included in my Spotify membership so I just randomly decided to play it while I was working and ended up getting too far into it to stop and was loving it again and ended up finishing it in two days. It was just as good the second time around! If you’re afraid of reading dark romance but love lighter romance novels and just want to dip your toes into the dark romance deep end, I would highly recommend this book!
Saving 6 by Chloe Walsh
Format: Audiobook / eReader
Rating: 4 ⭐️ / 3 🌶️
This is book three in the Boys of Tommen series. Saving 6 and Redeeming 6 (my current read as of 2/28) follows the same timeline as the first two books but from two other characters POVs. You get more of these new character’s history with each other in Saving 6 but then it eventually meets and picks up where Binding 13 starts. With different characters, you get different issues, and it was interesting to follow these two next in the series. I really enjoyed Saving 6! I don’t know if I will end up liking this story more than Binding 13 and Keeping 13 so I will save full judgement until I finish Redeeming 6 because again, these two books read like one long one so I will review both under one review and rating, so stay tuned!
I hope you enjoyed this round up! I’m excited to see what March has in store. I will be going on vacation so there should hopefully be plenty of time for some reading and listening! So stay tuned!
Let me know if you have any fun books planned for March!
Till next time, just keep reading.
The Rights and Wrong series is one of my FAVES and the rest of these are on my TBR list so I appreciate the reviews! I'm disappointed that my library just took the audiobook option off Hoopla so I'm going to have to find a different way to read.
